Innovative, part of Clarivate, is pleased to announce that the Suburban Library Cooperative<\/a> in Michigan has selected the Polaris ILS, Vega Discover, Vega Promote, and Vega Program.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Suburban Library Cooperative (SLC) is a network of 18 public libraries in the Macomb County area of Michigan that have joined together to provide materials and services to their communities. In addition to a wide range of materials and services, from free wi-fi to scanning, the SLC offers a local history digital collection that includes information about the history of local transportation, regional history, and genealogy; and offers patrons the ability to check out a Michigan Activity Pass, which allows free access to museums, parks, cultural centers, and more.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPolaris provides all the functions we need, and we are looking forward to the flexibility offered to work from anywhere,\u201d said Mallorie DeVilbiss, Director, Suburban Library Cooperative. \u201cWe\u2019re also really excited about the new features in Vega Discover, Promote, and Program; our programs are popular, and we\u2019re looking forward to getting the word out more effectively.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Suburban Library Cooperative has selected the following solutions to maximize their efforts to serve their community with access to a variety of resources:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Polaris <\/span><\/b><\/a>provides an intuitive web interface that brings the full power and functionality of the ILS to the web browser. Polaris can be used on a computer or tablet, freeing staff to connect with patrons and complete tasks wherever it is most convenient\u2014even outside the library walls.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vega Discover, Vega Promote, and Vega Program are three modules of the <\/span>Vega Library Experience (LX)<\/span><\/b><\/a> suite of tools. Vega LX is a cloud-based platform that allows library staff to easily communicate and manage a full range of materials, programs, and services. Vega LX works with the Sierra and Polaris ILS to provide library staff with a holistic view of their patron activities and community engagement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vega Discover <\/span><\/b><\/a>is a responsive, accessible discovery solution that not only delivers premier search results, but also features a patron bookshelf with custom reading lists, patron account management, library-curated showcases, and smart showcases that display related resources and topics. Discover comes with enhanced exploration tools, powered by Syndetics Unbound\u2019s enrichment content, such as series data, reader reviews, browse by reading level and more, as part of an engaging library experience. The Suburban Library Cooperative will be an early adopter of Vega Discover for Consortia.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vega Promote<\/span><\/b><\/a> keeps patrons and community members informed of library activities via a modern email marketing platform, offering easy, graphics-rich email design and close integration with the ILS to keep patron data within your library\u2019s own ecosystem. Staff can send emails targeted to recipients according to their location or interests, and you can even use Promote to create emails with Vega Discover showcases.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vega Program <\/span><\/b><\/a>lets libraries easily manage events, providing registration forms, landing pages, flyers, and attendee communications\u2014as well as room bookings. Vega Program\u2019s user-friendly, responsive interface means both staff and patrons can manage event attendance with ease.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
