Innovative, part of Clarivate, a global provider of library software, is pleased to announce that North Country Library System<\/a> (NCLS) has selected Polaris as their ILS, Vega Discover as their discovery layer, and the Innovative Mobile app.<\/p>\n

North Country Library System is a New York-based, 65-member public consortium that serves a population of 224,000 people across Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego, and St. Lawrence counties. Through shared library services, cooperative purchasing, coordinated literacy campaigns, and training, NCLS maximizes sharing, creativity, and innovation to help improve the lives of North Country residents at home, at work, at school, and at play.<\/p>\n

“If there is one constant in public libraries, it is change,” said NCLS Executive Director Paulette Roes. “We’re constantly adapting to new formats and technology, while working to ensure\u202fthe best patron experience possible. Our move to Polaris is exactly the change we need right now to accomplish our libraries’ goals\u2014increased discoverability, a seamless integration with our electronic resources, and a clean, modern interface.”<\/p>\n

Vega Discover will enable NCLS consortia members to create separate online catalogs with unique URLs and custom branding. In addition, the central office can now set up eContent accounts for the main site and share that eContent with all members. Member libraries can also set up unique OverDrive and Hoopla accounts at the collection site level with subscription details for their patrons.<\/p>\n

Polaris<\/a> provides an intuitive web interface that brings the full power and functionality of the ILS to the web browser. Polaris can be used on a computer or tablet, freeing staff to connect with patrons and complete tasks wherever it is most convenient\u2014even outside the library walls.<\/p>\n

Utilizing Innovative Mobile<\/a>, NCLS patrons will have complete access to their library system through a convenient and modern interface. Innovative Mobile is a full-featured patron app for libraries that integrates with Vega Discover.<\/p>\n

Vega Discover is a full-featured discovery tool that not only delivers premier search results, but also features a patron bookshelf with custom reading lists, patron account management, library-curated and automated smart showcases, and smart showcases on related resources and topics.<\/p>\n
