Innovative, part of Clarivate, is excited to announce that Middle Country Public Library<\/a> (MCPL) has launched Vega Program for event coordination and room management.<\/p>\n

Since the mid-1950s, MCPL has been enhancing the quality of life and fostering positive civic engagement for residents across Long Island, New York through their programs, services, diverse collections, inviting spaces, and interactions with their knowledgeable staff. Serving as a dynamic community hub across Long Island, MCPL offers comprehensive programming and services through partnerships with area businesses, social services, health, education, and civic organizations. In 2021, over 43,000 visitors attended nearly 2,700 MCPL events and programs. In short, MCPL works every day to redefine what a library can be.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited to continue our longstanding relationship with Innovative by providing our patrons and staff with this new platform to create, manage, and register for the many programs and events MCPL offers,\u201d said Sophia Serlis-McPhillips, Middle Country Public Library Director. \u201cAs we prepared to go live with Vega Program, we were extremely impressed not only with the modern features and user experience it provides, but also with how responsive Innovative\u2019s team has been to our feedback and requests.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whether the event is in person or online, standalone or recurring, Vega Program\u2019s intuitive design empowers library staff to plan, coordinate, and manage their full breadth of events and programs. From the administrative dashboard, staff can easily create, edit, or clone events, while handling advanced settings, such as transaction fees (via Stripe), room bookings, and waitlist management. Built -in marketing tools provide staff with one-click event flier printing with event-specific QR codes and event brochures.<\/p>\n

Vega Program<\/a> is a module of the Vega Library Experience<\/a> (LX) suite of tools. Vega LX is a cloud-based platform that allows library staff to easily communicate and manage a full range of materials, programs, and services. Vega LX works with the Sierra and Polaris ILSs to provide library staff with a holistic view of their patron activities and community engagement.<\/p>\n

In 2021, MCPL became one of the first 30 library systems to launch Vega LX\u2019s ultramodern discovery layer, Vega Discover. Vega Discover<\/a> delivers more accurate and relevant search results through linked data, making it easy for users to find library resources with the simplicity they expect from modern technology.<\/p>\n
