Innovative, part of Clarivate, is pleased to announce that the City of Surprise, Arizona has selected the Polaris ILS and Vega Discover.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Beginning in July 2023, the City of Surprise, Arizona will begin managing their own operations and collections for several libraries, including Surprise Regional, Hollyhock, and Asante branch libraries across Maricopa County. The newly formed system carries a wide variety of adult and children\u2019s books, magazines, newspapers, reference materials and electronic devices, including Wi-Fi and tools for internet access.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to their online and in-branch collections, the City of Surprise libraries offer book club boxes to make it easy to host a book club, citizen science kits, and classes for people of all ages and interests, with events that include story times, play, crafting, gardening, and Tai Chi.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vega Discover is a full-featured discovery tool that delivers premier search results, a patron bookshelf with custom reading lists, patron account management, library-curated and automated showcases, and smart showcases on resources and topics related to a given item or search result.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vega Discover<\/span><\/a>\u202fis the responsive and\u202f<\/span>accessible<\/span><\/a>\u202fdiscovery module of the Vega Library Experience (LX) suite of patron engagement tools. Vega LX is a cloud-based platform that allows library staff to easily communicate and manage a full range of materials, programs, and services.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Polaris provides an intuitive web interface that brings the full power and functionality of the ILS to the web browser. Polaris can be used on a computer or tablet, freeing staff to connect with patrons and complete tasks wherever it is most convenient\u2014even outside the library walls.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
